Wen Jiabao inspects Guangzhou and Zhuhai

From November 11th to 12th, and from November 14th to 15th, while attending the Guangzhou Asian Games opening ceremony and the opening ceremony of the 3rd Ministerial Conference of the China-Portuguese Speaking Countries Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum in Macao, and inspecting the Macao Special Administrative Region, Premier Wen Jiabao, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, accompanied by Wang Yang, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Committee, visited several enterprises, communities, supermarkets, and research institutions in Guangzhou and Zhuhai, meeting with cadres and the masses, and understanding the economic and social development situation.

On the 15th, Wen Jiabao visited Gree Electric Appliances Co., Ltd., Zhuhai Hansheng Technology Co., Ltd., Yintong New Energy Industrial Base, and AVIC General Aircraft Zhuhai Industrial Base. At each enterprise, Wen Jiabao encouraged employees to adhere to the path of independent innovation and energy conservation and emission reduction for sustainable development. He said that regarding enterprise production, he is currently most concerned about two things: independent innovation and energy conservation and environmental protection. Both are related to scientific development and sustainable development. Enterprises should place technological innovation in an important position, striving to reach new technological heights. Through technological innovation, they should continuously launch new energy-efficient products, improve enterprise competitiveness, and win greater market share.
