"I shook hands with the Premier" — Three eyewitnesses recount a touching moment

“It felt like a long-awaited reunion.”
“Many of our troupe members shook hands with the Premier for the second time, and everyone said it felt like a long-awaited reunion.” Song Ya, a member of the Hansheng Art Troupe, told reporters that last October, when the Hansheng Art Troupe represented China in performing arts in North Korea, Premier Wen Jiabao personally shook hands and took photos with the troupe members.
Seeing Wen Jiabao come out after visiting the Hansheng production workshop, the members of the Hansheng Art Troupe waiting outside cheered. “We asked the Premier, ‘Do you still remember us?’” Song Ya said, because everyone was wearing the costumes they wore for the performance in North Korea, the Premier shook hands with everyone while smiling and nodding, saying, ‘I remember, I remember.’
Song Ya said that the Premier was still as amiable as ever, shaking hands with everyone present. A troupe member playfully said to the Premier, “Grandpa Wen, we hope we can go on a visit with you next time.” Wen Jiabao smiled and replied, “Okay, okay.”
When Wen Jiabao finished taking photos with everyone and got into the car to leave, Song Ya and several troupe members said with concern, “Premier, please take care of your health!” The Premier smiled, nodded, and waved goodbye to everyone. “The Premier works so hard, we really wanted to say this to Premier Wen from the bottom of our hearts.” Song Ya told the reporter.
