Hansheng Art Troupe wins two championships at the Sabah Arts Festival, raising the national prestige

The Zhuhai Hansheng Art Troupe from China, having won the top prize, the Chief Supreme Award, at the 7th Sabah International Folk Arts Festival dance competition with their performance of "Water Wedding," also won the Best Female Dancer award.
This year's Chinese delegation consisted of 30 professional male and female dancers. Their choreography, artistic expression, and performance showcased the essence of Chinese culture, particularly their use of props, transforming the stage into a water scene. Their powerful yet graceful dance moves won thunderous applause from the audience.
Team leader Wu Xiaolin, after receiving the award, expressed that winning the top prize for the second consecutive year was both unexpected and a pleasant surprise.
She said, "We never expected to win again. So for the team members, this is both affirmation and encouragement. If we have the opportunity, we hope to come back and compete next year, showcasing Chinese culture to the local people." Last year, they won the Chief Minister's Award, the concept's top prize.
Yu Meng, the Best Female Dancer award winner, who boasts 20 years of rich dance experience, said that after winning the award last year and returning to China, they immediately began practicing to put their best foot forward this year.
Yu Meng was the female lead in the "Water Wedding" dance. Her flexibility and seamless collaboration with her male dance partner were key to her winning the award.
The experienced Zhuhai Hansheng Art Troupe from China has been invited to participate in local Spring Festival Galas and is considered one of the leading dance troupes in China.
