Founded in 1985, Zhuhai Hansheng Science and Technology Co., Ltd. has now passed its 30th anniversary. As a national high-tech enterprise and a globally renowned manufacturer of radio frequency coaxial cables, Zhuhai Hansheng has worked diligently in the cable industry for 32 years, remaining true to its original aspirations and consistently adhering to technological and management innovation to drive the company's development.

"To seek development in the face of fierce market competition, we must rely on scientific and technological personnel to develop high-tech flagship products, consolidate the domestic market while striving to expand overseas markets, and allow Hansheng to forge ahead and grow stronger." said Shou Weichun, Chairman and Party Secretary of Zhuhai Hansheng.

Striving to be a giant of technological innovation

"From its inception to its brilliance, Zhuhai Hansheng has always adhered to the path of real economy development, achieving an upgrade from 'Hansheng manufacturing' to 'Hansheng creation' through continuously enhancing the company's independent innovation capabilities. Hansheng seizes the current opportunity of the country's encouragement and support for the development of the real economy, accelerates its adjustment pace, and continuously promotes the transformation and upgrading of products according to new technologies and new demands." Shou Weichun told reporters that over the years, Hansheng has invested about 3.5% of its annual sales revenue in new product R&D. The company successfully established the Guangdong Provincial Communication Coaxial Cable Engineering Technology Research and Development Center, and became the supporting unit of the Guangdong Provincial Enterprise Technology Center. Recently, it invested more than 5 million yuan to build a more modern Hansheng R&D center with more complete experimental equipment.

As the first domestic manufacturer to successfully use nitrogen to achieve physical high foaming, Hansheng's large-section physical foaming production technology has filled a domestic gap and reached internationally advanced levels. After successively achieving new breakthroughs in optical cables, leaky cables, and data cables, Hansheng has recently launched new products such as Class A++ cables and high-shielding voltage isolation network interfaces. According to calculations, the production technology and quality control of these new products have reached world-leading levels. With high-quality, high-stability products and a gradually improved product matrix, Hansheng has become famous worldwide.

Currently, Hansheng has 4 categories of communication cables rated as "National Key New Products," and 3 projects included in the "National Torch Plan" and "Key National Torch Plan." The company has been selected as a core enterprise in China's communication optical cable industry and has become a leading enterprise in domestic coaxial communication cables. To date, the company's several new product R&D teams have obtained a total of 45 patents, with 16 patents pending application. In 2016, Hansheng's sales reached 1.809 billion yuan, tax payments reached 84.9 million yuan, and exports reached US$73.74 million.

Being a pioneer in management innovation

Hansheng's leadership has always upheld the principle that enterprises must keep pace with the times, pay attention to industry development trends, introduce advanced enterprise management concepts, and improve enterprise operational efficiency. To this end, in early July this year, Hansheng began preparations for the launch of the SAP system.

The SAP system is an abbreviation for "Enterprise Management Solution." It integrates enterprise management and business operations and is currently the world's number one ERP software. The launch of SAP can better help enterprises conduct production cost analysis, simplify business processes, provide data support for company strategic decision-making, and help Hansheng achieve refined management.

Hansheng believes that one of the keys to management innovation lies in the cultivation of management talents. Therefore, for many years, Hansheng has always placed the cultivation of innovative talents in the context of economic globalization, focusing on cultivating senior management talents with a global vision.

A video about the "overseas corps" is circulating within Hansheng. In the video, a group of young people who have "gone abroad" from Hansheng are studying at several top universities in the UK and the US, accumulating strength for future development. To date, Hansheng has organized nearly 30 employees to study and train abroad.

Daring to be a pioneer in new markets

The high-end cable market has always been a battleground for the industry, but it is not easy to truly compete in it. On the one hand, high-end cables have higher requirements for materials, technology, processing technology, and stability, and product performance exceeds the capability limits of most enterprises; on the other hand, different countries have set different standards and certification thresholds for cable products, requiring enterprises to do a lot of on-the-ground work after going abroad. In view of this situation, many domestic cable companies prefer to cluster domestically, which to a large extent exacerbates problems such as product homogeneity in the domestic market.

Faced with these difficulties, Zhuhai Hansheng did not back down. On the one hand, Hansheng clearly knows that the domestic market is nearly saturated, and from the perspective of the company's development prospects, only "going out" can achieve greater growth space; on the other hand, with the deepening of the "Belt and Road" initiative, the domestic cable industry is facing huge policy opportunities, so why not seize this moment!

Falling down and getting up again and again, recovering from setbacks again and again, today, Hansheng's international business has grown from nothing, with products exported to Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, the UK, Germany, France, the United States, Canada and other countries and regions.

The high-shielding voltage isolation network interface project, currently in the small-batch production stage, is one of the classic cases of Hansheng's cooperation with foreign high-end customers in technology research and development. In March 2016, a foreign customer visited Hansheng. During the meeting, the customer mentioned this new product. Although the high-shielding voltage isolation network interface is quite different from Hansheng's existing product series, Hansheng's leadership keenly sensed the market prospects of this product. The two sides finally reached an agreement to jointly carry out research and development, with Hansheng taking the lead.

Jin Jiafeng, deputy chief engineer of Hansheng, told reporters that based on past experience, conventional products can be basically finalized after one or two samples. However, the sampling difficulty of the high-shielding voltage isolation network interface far exceeded expectations, and it took four samples before finally passing the certification of the end-user operator customer. "Passing the certification means that the high-shielding voltage isolation network interface designed and manufactured by Hansheng has successfully entered the foreign market. It is expected that the large-scale supply of this product will start after next year's Spring Festival, which will create nearly 100 million yuan in sales revenue for the company." said Jin Jiafeng.
