Zhuhai becomes a global standard-setter in the telecommunications field for the first time
Recently, IEC 61196-6-4, "Coaxial Communication Cables - Part 6-4: Detailed Specifications for 75-7 Type CATV Cables," officially published. This standard was spearheaded by Zhuhai Hansheng Technology Co., Ltd., marking Zhuhai's first breakthrough in leading the development of IEC international standards. Zhuhai has thus become a standard-setter for international rules in the communications field for the first time.
As a high-tech manufacturing enterprise, Zhuhai Hansheng Technology Co., Ltd. mainly engages in the manufacturing of cable television cables and communication optical cables. This IEC international standard, which it spearheaded, is a specification standard for coaxial cables used in access networks, mainly applied to cable television, security monitoring networks, and satellite broadcasting systems.
Coaxial communication cables, invented by Europeans at the end of the 19th century, have been widely used for over 100 years in the transmission of audio, video, or radio frequency signals, and are widely used in broadcasting, satellite communications, video surveillance, and microwave communication systems. For a long time, relevant international standards for communication cables have been dominated by European and American countries. Chinese companies have faced significant obstacles in participating in the development of international standards.
To break down this barrier, Hansheng has for many years taken innovation-driven and standard-leading as its core strategies, continuously increasing its investment in independent innovation and research and development, ultimately mastering its own core technologies and gaining recognition from international peers and relevant institutions. In October 2017, at the 81st meeting of the IEC International Electrotechnical Commission, this standard, spearheaded by the company, was unanimously approved by experts from 11 member countries including China, Germany, the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Russia, and Japan, and was officially published recently as an IEC international standard.
As is well known, standard-setters not only represent leading technological levels within their industries but also signify greater influence in the global technological competition. Since establishing itself as an "innovative city for international standards" in 2018, Zhuhai has achieved fruitful results in international standardization work. To date, the city has participated in the development of more than 70 international standards. The official release and implementation of this international standard, spearheaded by Zhuhai Hansheng Technology, is Zhuhai's first self-led international standard, marking a breakthrough for the city in international standards.
